Turgut Ergun passed away on December 28. He was a longtime resident of Danville. He was 81. Born to Abidin and Nevruz Ergun in Malatya, Turkey, Turgut was the younger of two siblings. After schooling in Turkey, Turgut attended Leeds University in England, then onto graduate school at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. He soon met his wife, Marcella, at a dance. They were married in Turkey, where they lived until work brought them to Oakland, CA in the early 1970s. He worked as a Mining Engineer with Kaiser, then with Bechtel, Fluor, and Kvaerner.
Turgut loved his family, the natural beauty of Danville, and the many animals that traversed his yard.
Turgut survived by his wife, Marcella, children Erol, Kenny, and Kurt, and daughter-in-law, Gina.
Funeral services and interment will be held at Lafayette Cemetery at 3285 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549.
