Peter Homes passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021.
Born to Cecille and W. Arthur Homes, Appleton Wisconsin February 7th, 1939. He graduated from Appleton Highschool in 1957 where he excelled in basketball. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee where he was active in the Alpha Kappa Psi international commerce fraternity. He continued on to the University of Minnesota to earn his MBA in 1964.
His career began with the Cadillac division of General Motors in Detroit Michigan and later transferred to San Francisco where he would begin his life in California. In 1968 he moved into finance helping grow Fidelity Savings and Loan and Eureka Federal Savings and Loan. In 1982 after an exciting period in publishing as the Vice President of Nitty Gritty Productions/Mariposa Press, Pete found his way back to finance and banking. He worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and had a long and successful career at Wells Fargo in both domestic and international correspondent banking before his retirement in 2004.
Peter met and fell in love with his wife Kay in California. They were married in 1968 in San Mateo. Soon after, they moved to the East Bay and settled in Danville where they raised their three sons.
He served several terms as the President of the Sycamore Homeowners Association and was an original member of the Danville 4th of July Parade’s “Sycamore Lawnmower Brigade.”
Peter loved his family and family life. He coached Danville Little League and Mustang Soccer. He enjoyed nothing more than going to his sons’ games, meets and activities. Later in life his joy was watching his grandchildren play.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Phil. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Kay, his three sons Tony (Lisa), Steve (Stacy) and Nick (Rosie) and his beloved grandchildren; Madie, Sadie, Drew, Tyler, Mikey and Lila.
