Welcome to the memorial page for

Pebble F. Brimley

December 15, 1920 ~ November 3, 2016 (age 95)
Pebble Fern Brimley, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother has passed on. She was the daughter of Robert F. Cannon and Minnie Dot Cannon.  Pebble came from an enormous loving family which migrated from Texas to Seminole, Oklahoma.
Pebble started out in Oklahoma as an elementary school teacher and also did some modeling.  She married and relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in her 20’s with her parents, husband and children during WW2. She then settled in war housing and worked in the shipyards until the war ended.  Her parents returned to Oklahoma and Pebble helped her husband begin and run a grocery store business. Summer trips always took her back to Oklahoma and her parent’s farm in Seminole.  Eventually, Pebble went back into education as a teacher and was very well known as a favorite elementary school teacher in some challenging schools, in and around the Richmond, CA area.
During her middle aged years she settled in Pinole, CA and remarried Lowell Brimley.  They had a family vacation home in Clearlake, CA and spent a lot of summers there with family and friends on the lake.  Pebble and Lowell enjoyed riverboat cruises and gardening together at their home.
She enjoyed children, reading, gardening, driving, history, cowboy movies, playing cards, getting her hair done, the colors white and gold, shopping at the mall and wearing high heels.    She was always surrounded by family and friends on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.   She had a vast knowledge of history and was the sole source of all of the family genealogy.  As the family matriarch, she was very much involved in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives until the day she passed.
She is survived by her two sons: Gregory Butler, Jeffery Butler, five Grandchildren: Christi Barbieri, Kelly Frost, Keith Butler, Cara Butler, Brett Butler, seven great-grandchildren: Isabella Barbieri, Massimo Barbieri, Ethan Butler, Brody Butler, Jake Frost, Michala Frost, Eric Butler, and  great-great-grandchild: Josh Butler.
