Mary Rose Gehrmann

Mary Rose Gehrmann age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021. Mary was surrounded by her loving daughter and family at her Danville residence, in California.
Mary was born and raised in San Francisco, CA on December 5, 1938. Parents Tony and Mary Cefalu moved the family from the North Beach area (Little Italy) to the Silver Terrace area of San Francisco, when Mary was entering her teenage years. Mary went on to attend Balboa High School, where she met her future husband, Bob Gehrmann.
Mary and Bob married on February 23, 1957, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in the North Beach district of San Francisco. Mary and Bob welcomed their daughter, Lori in 1959. Mary was a career woman who set her sights on the financial industry which began with Crocker Bank and went on to United California Bank. UCB merged with First Interstate Bank, and then later became Wells Fargo Bank. Mary was a VP for the data processing center in Fremont, CA. She retired after some 40 years on March 30, 2001.
Mary enjoyed cooking, especially Italian cuisine, and entertaining family and friends. Mary and her family spent numerous summers at Clear Lake and Lake Shasta, house boating, traveling to Mexico, and throughout the United States. Mary’s circle of friends she met at Balboa High School carried on throughout her life. They all participated in the “Mystery Weekend” events which each couple hosted in rotation. Mary also enjoyed her ladies’ luncheons and her monthly book club meetings as well as participation in numerous Pedro Tournaments.
Mary is preceded by her beloved Bob, and her sister, Connie. She is survived by her daughter Lori, siblings: Anthony Cefalu, Joe Cefalu, Frank Cefalu, and Beverly Lucero; Brother-in-law John Lopes; Her Nieces MaryAnn Blanchietti and husband Mark; Leslie Williams and husband Randy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
A Mass and Celebration of Mary’s transition to Heaven will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, located at 440 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA 94526.
