James Michael Casey
September 10, 1938 - January 22, 2022
Resident of Danville for 51 years
Born in Rock Island, Illinois to Orris and Julia Casey, Jim was fourth of five children. He and his family moved to Richmond, Calif. in 1942. Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy on the west coast. He spent nearly 40 yrs. in construction.
Jim enjoyed playing golf with his son Michael, woodworking, along with walking and hiking with his wife Betty. He served his community as a Cub Scout Leader and Little League Coach.
A man of varied talents, Jim added many design elements to the family home, he built a 14’ sailboat, designed and helped build a 1976 Danville 4th of July Club Scout parade float which was the Sweepstakes Award winner.
Jim was passionate about his dogs, his Irish heritage, the JAG tv series, and anything chocolate. He enjoyed his time as a volunteer at the one room Tassajara School House. He enjoyed a good beer and avid 49er’s fan.
He leaves his wife Betty of 55 yrs., son Michael, and sister Patty Sautislban. The Casey family is forever grateful to caregivers Jackie Rivas and Nurse Mary.
There will be a private family burial. A Celebration of Life to be announced and held in the home he so loved.
