Denzil Howard McCuskey

February 11, 1934 ~ January 27, 2022 (age 87)

February 11, 1934 – January 27, 2022

Born in Queen City, MO to Joseph T McCuskey and Anna Fae.  He was succeeded by his brother Lowell McCuskey, wife Ola McCuskey and their four children, still living in Missouri.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria McCuskey and son, Robert McCuskey of Danville, CA.    He was a proud grandfather to his 3 grandchildren, RJ, Mariana, Brady and 1 great grandchild, Juliana.

Mac was a 50-year resident of Danville and an active member of the community.  He served his country as a US Marine, becoming a sergeant and fought in the Korean War with the Fox 7th.  His involvement with the VFW in Danville will not be forgotten.  He became the Post Commander and was proud to support the veterans.

Fond memories of Mac are how much he and Gloria enjoyed the company of all the nieces, nephews and other family members living in CA.   Mac and Gloria participated in many activities such as golf, bowling, and snow skiing in Tahoe, all to be around family and friends.

Mac was very much a routine kind of guy.  He loved his daily newspaper, never missed a crossword puzzle, was a big fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune each night during dinner. He was a big sports fan and liked to support the Bay Area teams and players.   It was always a highlight in his day to take an afternoon trip by Elliot’s to say hello to the folks who looked forward to his visits.

He was a very kind, generous, well read, and smart man. Soft spoken but always had something intelligent to add to any conversation or story being shared.

Denzil “Mac” McCuskey, you will be greatly missed but never forgotten.  We will hold you dearly in our hearts and your legacy will live on through us all.
