Robert Earl (Bob) Beard, 81, long-time resident of Danville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, after a brief period in hospice.
Bob was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1936, and graduated from Tulsa Central High School and the University of Tulsa, with a degree in Economics. He had a successful career in his business as a distributor, supplying the needs of public utility companies in the western United States.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Kathleen; his two sons, Robert Earl Beard, Jr. of Redwood City and Patrick Charles Beard of Pleasanton; his two sisters, Belinda Beard Ajili of Redondo Beach and Betsy Ann Beard of Tucson, Arizona; and four grandchildren, Ashley Beard and Lindsey Beard-Newton, and Dash and Olivienne Kamriani-Beard.
Bob's interests included sailing and playing his treasured Hammond B-3 organ. He was known for his uncanny sense of humor that could light up a room with joy and laughter. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
